Dounreay's heritage strategy

DSRL are currently seeking views on a draft heritage strategy for the Dounreay site.  A number of possible options have been identified to preserve the Dounreay story for future generations.  A newsletter detailing the potential options, along with a questionnaire is available on DSRL's website along with the draft heritage strategy.  If you have a view then DSRL want to hear from you.  Go to www.dounreay.com to submit a response electronically or you can pop into the information office in Thurso and pick up a copy of the newsletter and questionnaire.

Scottish Government consultation on higher activity wastes

The Scottish Government is consulting on the Detailed Statement of Policy for Scotland’s Higher Activity Radioactive Waste. This Policy is needed by radioactive waste owners and producers to enable them to plan for the management of their higher activity radioactive waste now and in the longer term.

The Scottish Government’s policy is to support long-term near surface, near site storage and disposal facilities so that the waste is monitorable and retrieveable and the need for transporting it over long distances is minimal. For further information click on the documents below:
